Job Title: Software Licensing Specialist

Job Description:

A mostly reactive role that involves an in depth understanding of Westcoast Cloud partners’ Microsoft software requirements and the Microsoft licensing terms and agreement types, to fit a customer solution.

Westcoast offer a wide range of paid for services and third-party products. Full training on these products and services is provided.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Provide presales support and quotes to partners via phone and email – quoting cloud services and on premise software
• Understand partner requirements and licensing queries to be able to clearly and concisely explain the correct product and licensing solution. The ability to explain difficult concepts in an easy to understand manner is a key asset in this role
• Managing a busy fast paced workload – sending on average 100+ emails per day and up to 3 hours per day on the phone. A polite, friendly and confident phone manner is essential
• Offer a fast efficient service to maintain and develop relationships with partners
• Join end user conference calls- including discussing how to transition existing contracts to cloud services
• Understand how and when to offer the correct licensing agreements from the options of: CSP, Perpetual CSP, NCE, Open Value, Open Value Subscription, OVS-ES and SPLA
• Helping manage and maintain existing “legacy” volume licensing contracts for over 10,000 end user agreements, almost all of which contain cloud opportunities
• Sometimes requires placing of orders
• Expectation of exams (e.g. MS-900) to be passed as personal development and growth
• Keep knowledge up to date with all software agreement programs
• Identify and analyse potential licensing opportunities and work with Head of New Cloud Business to unlock future opportunities
• Assisting Operations team with queries to maintain customer service from quote to order completion
• In line with developing business needs, the role may expand beyond Microsoft licensing into other cloud software vendors
• Reporting to Software Licensing and Operations Manager

Candidate:

The successful candidate will meet some of the following criteria and be able to develop in other areas:

• Good communication, and literacy and with excellent telephone manner along and friendly customer service skills. Passionate about customer satisfaction.
• Driven to learn and co-operate as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and skilled in information gathering.
• Able to prioritise and keep calm within high pressure situations.
• A logical approach to problem solving coupled with common sense.
• Able to follow existing processes and show initiative in finding improvements.

Required Skills:

• An understanding of Microsoft licensing or software licensing in general would be advantageous
• Previous sales experience
• Excellent communication over phone, email and in person
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work independently
• Be willing to learn and understand when things change in a continually changing portfolio of products
• Be able to explain a difficult concept in a clear and concise way to our partners and customers.

Desirable:

• Microsoft Fundamentals Certifications e.g. (AZ-900, MS-900, SC-900).
• Microsoft Role Based Certifications e.g. (MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-500) or working towards these.
